From handyman to licensed general contractor
RH Construction And Renovation is owned by Regulo Hernandez Poceros, who goes by Rigo. For years he worked as a handyman, fixing, repairing and building for the people around him. Some of it was small: a door, a patch, a faucet. Some of it was the kind of work that grows into bigger jobs: tile, framing, flooring, paint, block work.
He has recently earned his California General B contractor license (#1162715), and the company is the next step. It lets him take on the larger remodels and construction projects he has been working toward, with the credentials a bigger job calls for, and with the same hands-on approach that built his reputation.
Nearly all of his work so far has come by word of mouth, from neighbors, friends and past customers telling each other. This website is how he plans to reach homeowners in Downey and the surrounding cities who have not met him yet.
How we approach the work
The company is small on purpose. Rigo works with a small crew, and that crew handles most of the work itself: framing, tile, flooring, painting and block work. When a project needs a specialty trade that falls under another California license, he says so at the quote stage and explains how it will be handled, instead of promising something that is not ours to deliver.
We put the scope in writing before work starts, so both sides know what is being removed, built and installed and which items are your selections. We would rather spend an extra hour on the quote than an extra week arguing over what it covered.
And we talk to you in your language. Calls, texts and WhatsApp messages are welcome in Spanish or English.
